This web site is VERY simple. Just click on an icon to go to it's corresponding web page. So, for example, if you want to watch tv on the web just click the WebTV icon. Or if you want to create a new or access an old online office document just click the My Docs icon. I set these pages up to kind of simulate your Windows desktop and make it easier for you to be able to get around on the web. And the sites I have linked to the icons are ones that I have found to be very usefull and/or fun. So when you click on the Email icon it will take you to the gmail website. I did this becuase I can't link it to all of the different email sites but I can link it to the one I think is the best.

The main point of this site is to help you see how much you can do on today's internet with just the aid of your web browser. All these applications are run from a computer somewhere else. So you just need a browser and an internet connection to run them. Therefore the rest of your computers' programs are becoming less necessary. Some of the benefits of online applications include: file/program access anywhere with an internet browser/connection, less risk of losing your important files, less chance of your files being corrupted or lost due to virus or spyware infection, less chance of programs crashing, etc... and all of this becuase these programs are run somewhere else by someone else whose job it is to keep everything running smoothly.
